Early March 2009

A long winter comes to an end with Spring pruning.

Before
After
It's alive!
Several days later.

700+ vines later.

That's a lot of haircuts!
Time to take these away.
This will make some bonfire!

Fast forward to the fire

We jump ahead to late May

John Spann and Steve Tash take care of business.
The present and the future for this vine.

Back to April, where Spring has Sprung!

Our ground cover takes off.

Pass the peas!
A view down a healthy row.
A vine wakes up to a lot of greenery on the ground.

May 2009

Spring has brought a lot of gloomy skies.
Spraying has become necessary.
Black rot vs. Bordeaux mixture.
Hope and gloom.
Grapes to be? We hope!
Looking south in late May
Peas? In a vineyard? Oh yeah, we did plant those....
At month's end, a successful "fruit set" on this bunch.

July

Good news and bad news

The good news is that this vine has a lot of fruit. The bad news is that it's one of the few that does.
A closeup of the same plant.
Summer pruning is done.

Time to get technical

What is it?
Take a look at that beautiful color.
